Living Eulogies

You get to have the final say!

Living eulogies are exactly what they seem: a eulogy that is written, or largely dictated, by you. You choose how your ceremony will be written and what music/songs/poems/prayers or readings you wish to have and by whom.

This way – you know EXACTLY what’s being said about you at your funeral.

It is a wonderful way for you to connect with the people closest to you and ensure that they receive the recognition you want them to have.

You write your story your way. This can also take the stress away from family during what can be a really difficult time.

The majority of living eulogies are written by those who are nearing the end of their life or have been given a terminal diagnosis. As sorrowful as it may be, it is such a positive and empowering way for that person to express their love and appreciation for those closest to them, without dwelling on the future.

However it doesn’t always have to be someone coming to the end of their life. You may feel that the time is right for you to start planning your funeral. Creating your own eulogy (up to present time) leaves you in complete control of what is said when the day does arrive.

It can create a communal atmosphere of appreciation as close family or friends reflect on their own experiences with the individual to share their feelings and memories.

Living eulogies can take various forms, including written letters, speeches, or recorded messages.

What Do You Need to Do?

Alongside your family, friends or relatives, we would sit, chat and get the creative juices flowing as we all take an extraordinary journey down memory lane. It will be both a happy and sad occasion, but most importantly the eulogy is specific to you.

After we’ve chatted, I’ll write up your eulogy and, once it has met with your approval, we can organise for a loved one or a solicitor to keep it until the day that it is needed.

You can ask someone in your family or a close friend to read your eulogy during your service.

Alternatively, it would be an absolute honour for me to read it on your behalf.

In the tapestry of days, I weave,

A narrative, both bold and naïve.

While I’m alive, my heart does yearn,

To pen the tale of lessons learned.

So here’s my anthem, bold and free,

A living tale, penned by none but me.

For in every heartbeat, in every breath,

I’ll tell my story until my last step.
